Frequently asked questions

Wine is a mystery. Or it should be. Every bottle has a story of the land, the weather, the stubborn streak of the person who made it. So if you’re handing over your hard-earned cash, ask yourself:

Who made this stuff?
How do they treat their vines, their people, their dirt?
Would you split a six-pack with them on a fencepost somewhere and shoot the breeze?

If yes, drink their wine.
If no, maybe don’t.

Still not sure? That’s what the FAQs are for.

  • Sure is.

Some of our wine is unfined but when we do fine a wine, we use a little time and gravity to get the job done.

  • We’ve been farming our vineyards organically for the last 7 years.

We believe in organics but there is a great deal of additional cost and administration required to certify.

At the moment, we’re thinking about becoming B Corp certified. It feels like it has a nice approach to all aspects of the business.

Let us know what you think! You’d you rather Dicey is certified organic or B Corp certified?

  • Sure is.
This is a two generation family story.

Robin and Margie Dicey, our pioneering parents cemented our family roots in the region and they still live on Swansong Vineyard where we source some fruit.

James Dicey and his wife Odelle Morshuis live on The Inlet Vineyard.

Matt Dicey and his wife Ali Holland live on Black Rabbit Vineyard.

We all work in the business in some capacity.
